My Name is Michael Smith and I'm a Web Programmer.

In 2005, I graduated from Derby High School in Derby, CT. I graduated 6th in my class and received many awards. I was accepted to many colleges, but chose Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT as my school. After an amazing 4 years, I graduated with honors from Sacred Heart University with a degree in Computer IT and a minor in Mathematics. I learned many skills from my school, especially in programming HTML, Flash (ActionScript), SQL, and other common languages. For my senior thesis, I created a website with PHP programming language. The website, MyLivingResume.com, allowed job seekers & employers to connect with each other through video resumes. The site is currently offline, but resides safely backed up by CD and on my hard drive :).

Currently, I work for Desktop Publishing Supplies, a small paper company that strives on its e-commerce business. There, I maintain their websites, maintain their internal network, and create solutions to everyday problems. From working there, I have learned the basics of SEO, RTML (Yahoo! Store's programming language), Google Analytics, Google Adwords, and much more. Everyday I use my SQL, HTML, and PHP skills to data mine and create custom programs to enhance the business.

My free time mostly consists of hanging out with friends and of course my fiance, Lindsey. Lindsey is a Graphic & Web Designer. We work great as a team. She designs websites and I program them. We have done many projects for friends and hope to soon make it a side business for ourselves!
